Catching Up

Got a chance to watch Brokeback Mountain yesterday night. Found it very slow paced and did not fancy two good looking men kissing each other, by and large it is not a bad movie but something you can afford miss. Also came across the fact from a website that, gay cowboys aren't a rare phenomenon!

List of movies i want to watch this Month:

1. Being Cyrus
2. Memories of Geisha
3. Pride and Prejudice
4. Crash
5. Walk the Line

The movie has some strong positives; I thought photography was one of them. Particularly the amount of canvas given to Wyoming skies is noteworthy. I think that Ang Lee's treatment of a homosexual (or was it primarily homosexual?) relationship was sensitive & the character sketch was detailed. Like you mention, the pace is slow & in spite of the slightly non-mainstream story line, I found it trying to sit through. Now such a thing could also be the inability to respond to & being sensitive to what could be a distinct cinematic style - in this case, evolutionary, more than narrative.

I was looking forward to see this movie, but I guess I shall make peace with the reviews that you guys have given.

B/w- gay cowboys...is a very real phenomenon and I have witnessed it many times in Houston.
Correction: "Ned Sublette, later sung by"
