A thoughtful start
First day of this year i was glad to wrap up the day with a great movie. Motorcycles diaries.
The movie was in Spanish with breathtaking Latin American settings, and before i miss to mention a very handsome and skilled young actor , who's life is changed for ever after his journey that starts in Buenos Aires, where he has a big protective and loving family, and not quite end in some obscure part of Venezuela. This movie is about awakening, about how each of us can make a huge difference to this world if we look out of the well we live in.The lines that divides countries are man made demons and discrimination that is thrusted on mankind is appalling.
I also was able to finish Life of Pi in a record time.Wonderfully written; i so wanted to believe each and very part the book spells out.Staggering narration of a boy trapped in a life boat with a royal Bengal tiger! What i like most about the book is that the author had reasons for everything he says.. its does not seems a mere work of fantasy any given moment. i like to believe that everything that happens or doesn't not happen have reasons and with a mind full of this ability anyone can come across a winner. Just like Pi Patel.
Another movie, The pursuit of happiness.A very touching narration, reality stricken, in fact based on a true story about a man who chases his destiny with tides of time against him.The movie is about determination, the nothing to loose ,everything to gain philosophy. This apply to us very aptly as we give up on things which matters, without a fight... with ghosts of dissatisfactions chasing us all our lives.
Another aspect of the movie made me reaffirm my thoughts on less is more theory, the greed in us has to be beaten sooner or the world will soon bursts due to our short memory and growing desires.
I'd like many more books and movies that will make me sit up in 2007.
