Jamestown-400 years of Americas.

Captain John Smith the first Englishmen who crossed the Atlantic and reached the shores of Virgina.

I never knew that the English fought the native Indians or the red Indians in America, but they did around 400 years ago. I went to Jamestown, a colonial historic park some 4 hours drive from DC in Virginia. It celebrated it 400th year this May 13th. Her majesty, the Queen visited this place a week ago, and their was still a lot of hoopla left on the final day of the celebrations. An orchestra with a strength of 400 men and woman and a choir of 1607 people ranging from 9-97 yr olds. It was again a spectacularly sunny day with sea winds making the chill factor go up. Lots to see and experience at this place, the James river, the old glass house, the restored English settlements and the native Indian village are parts of the outdoor exhibits. There are lot of trivia and history to talk but I guess they'll make an excellent dinner conversation so I'll save them for later.

The Powhatans, native Americans in Virginia showcaseing their dance form.
