Bliss

A brightly lit Sunday afternoon, I watch a game on TV in a drowsy state but what keeps me from falling asleep is the badami tree out in the balcony, I can't get enough of the fresh green leaves contrasting with the brilliant blue and the amber colored leaf. Its calming effect overrides the occasional commotion of smoke puffing vehicles that passes below.
I don't remember if I ever secretly wished for a home embraced by a cheerful tree but I did spent the past year witnessing the seasonal changes a deciduous tree underwent that stood out side the balcony of my apartment in Virgina. It responded to the change of season with grace and I admired its contoured form, barren in early winters and when it was covered with white sheets of snow or when its frail pink flowers would veil the branches to announce the onset of spring.
I made many failed efforts to sketch its bare branches and taken several pictures when it had turned flaming yellow from head to toe. Back home I am not sure how diverse state the badami tree will acquire with change of season but I'll enjoy it's state of blissful existence for years to come.
