Mistress

Mistress by Anita Nair... The author I must say does her job effortlessly... she brings out a lot of emotions as the story unfolds, I like the intensity she puts in as it makes the plot alive. The story as such in parts made me sit up but mostly it was a dampner an adult novel wrapped up in an arty mould with rasas thrown in to make it upmarket and urbane.
Truely the Kathakali angle did not stir up any cords parlty because it's excotisim is as much alien to me as it was to the english charecters in the novel. Also I though my opinion got coloured a bit by my disgust of the vivid adultrous occurance written with much juice that filled its pages.
